We proudly announce that Honghi Tran, luminary in the field of pulp and paper engineering, will be holding a seminar from June 17 – June 18, 2019 in the SAPP headquarter in Klagenfurt. Participants will be able go gain insights in the developments of recovery boiler and the State of the art from one of the greatest experts in the field and discuss their own in-house challenges with Mr. Tran as well as the recovery boiler experts from SAPP.
Honghi Tran obtained his B.Sc. and M.Eng. in Ceramic Engineering from Shizuoka University in Japan and his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto (U of T). He has been with U of T since 1987, and is currently working as a professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry. Honghi has helped establish and direct consecutively 12 large industrial research consortia, focusing on issues related to fouling and corrosion in recovery boilers, causticizing and lime kiln chemistry, sodium and sulfur balances, borate autocausticizing, combustion and ash related problems in biomass boilers, as well as mill waste disposal/utilization. In the seminar, Honghi Tran will give an overview on the developments of recovery boiler and the State of the art. Furthermore, he will present his extensive scientific work he has carried out over the past decades. In addition, the recovery boiler experts from SAPP will reflect on their findings from various projects from the past years and will talk about current and future issues in this field.
